Māori admired the Kingfisher or Kōtare for being like a watchful sentry. The bird perches motionless, then attacks its prey in a sudden blur. The word Kōtare sometimes referred to the elevated platform in a Māori pā, used to watch for enemies.

- Cast glass with set screw fitting. Can be mounted on any type of wall:
- Dry Wall/ GIB - After installing your anchor, screw the bird into the wall. Be mindful to not over-tighten as this can damage the bird.
- Masonry - After installing your anchor, screw the bird into the wall. Be mindful to not over-tighten as this can damage the bird.
- Wood - Drill a pilot hole no larger than the diameter of the screw. Screw the bird into the wall. Be mindful to not over-tighten as this can damage the bird.
